In recent years, the Purdue University football program has been known for producing some of the best quarterbacks in the country. Names like Drew Brees, Kyle Orton, and Curtis Painter are synonymous with the Boilermaker program. However, one Purdue quarterback's brother has a story that isn't about football success.

Evan Lisle is the younger brother of David Blough, who himself was a standout quarterback for Purdue from 2015 to 2018. While David was leading the Boilermakers on the field, Evan was battling addiction off the field. Evan's struggles with drugs and alcohol began in high school, where he started experimenting with prescription pills. By the time David was playing at Purdue, Evan had graduated to harder drugs like heroin.

In 2017, Evan was arrested for possession of heroin and placed on probation. However, he continued to struggle with addiction and was arrested again in 2018 for violating his probation. This time, he was sentenced to six months in jail. During his time behind bars, Evan began to turn his life around. He got clean and started attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

After his release, Evan returned to his hometown of Carrollton, Texas, where he started working as a personal trainer and recovery coach. He also started a non-profit organization called "Elevate," which aims to help people struggling with addiction. Evan's mission is to use his own experiences to help others who are going through similar struggles.

David Blough has been incredibly supportive of his brother throughout his journey. In a 2019 interview with the Indianapolis Star, David said, "I've seen how addiction can destroy someone's life. But I've also seen how someone can beat it and become a better person on the other side. That's what Evan has done."

Evan's story is a reminder that addiction can affect anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. But it's also a story of hope and redemption. Evan has turned his life around and is now helping others do the same. His story is an inspiration to anyone who is struggling with addiction or knows someone who is.
